This guide is part of the project "Enabling disabled people to run for election, and exercise their rights as an elected representative". The project has also prepared the guide "Accessibility to elections. Guide for the municipalities". The project is funded by the Ministry of Labour and Social Inclusion.
The guide is based on the Delta Centre’s own materials, talks with and feedback from municipalities, disabled people’s interest organisations, political parties and politicians with reduced functional capacity. In preparing this guide, great importance was attached to ensuring participation and input from relevant groups and bodies.
The purpose of this guide is to increase knowledge about necessary measures to ensure political influence and participation for all. We hope that it will serve as a useful tool in the work to create the conditions necessary for broad participation and involvement in local and party politics.
This publication is an English translation of the booklet "Deltakelse i politisk arbeid. Forutsetninger og like muligheter for alle". Certain sections specific to Norway have been omitted in the translation, as well as an illustration.
